Our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)
Our CSA offers our harvest members
fresh, healthy vegetables in season. Become
a regular harvest member and pick up your vegetables once a week from
June to November or become
a fall harvest member and pick up your vegetables
once a week from September to November.
Fresh from the field
The vegetables you receive each week will
vary depending on what is in season.
In a typical year, expect an average
of ten pounds of produce a week, usually
enough to feed four non-vegetarians or
two vegetarians. Eating in season in the
Northeast, one learns to enjoy what each
season has to offer. The spring is a great
season for salads, cooked greens, and fresh peas.
The summer is full of everyone's
favorites: tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers
and melons. The fall is a wonderful time
for hearty soups and roasted vegetables
made
from various roots, winter squash, and potatoes.
See our Vegetable Seasonality Chart for
more information about when different vegetables
are likely to be available.
How do I get my
veggies?
Once a week, on either Tuesday evening
or Saturday morning, you pick up
your vegetables at the farm. In the distribution
room, you will find an assortment of fresh
vegetables and friendly, helpful distribution room
attendants. A few "pick your own" crops will be clearly
labeled in the field.
Help with the harvest
In addition to a financial commitment,
each harvest membership includes
a commitment to twelve hours
in the fields over the course of the season.
We have alternate work opportunities for
those who are unable to do physically demanding
work. A nonworking membership
is also available.
Flexible membership
If you are interested in the
work, mission and tasty vegetables
of the PFP, please do not let the
cost of a membership keep
you from joining. Some options:
- Share a membership
with someone else.
- Pay in two or more installments.
- Ask about
our sponsored memberships.
- Ask about our
barter membership positions.
