- The Hartfood Food System, a model program in the growing "community food movement," works to create an equitable and sustainable food system that addresses the underlying causes of hunger and poor nutrition facing lower-income and elderly Connecticut residents. Brings together scores of groups, from local farms and community gardens, policy makers, soup kitchens and neighborhood organizations to create a new local food system.

- The Land Trust Alliance Northeast Program (LTA/NE) has launched a major policy initiative - the Private Land Conservation Incentive Program - in New York State to persuade state legislators and the governor to create new incentives for private land conservation and to work with land trusts and other nonprofit organizations to increase state investment in conserving open space
