Are you thinking about your year-end giving? Your impact could be doubled!

As the year winds down, many of our supporters start thinking about where to direct their giving. If Poughkeepsie Farm Project is on your list, I wanted to share every way you can give so you can choose what fits you best. A letter will also arrive in your mailbox in late November/early December.

First, a tax change worth knowing about. Starting with 2026 taxes, a new federal law lets you deduct up to $1,000 in cash gifts made directly to charity ($2,000 for married couples filing jointly) even if you take the standard deduction. Gifts made by December 31 count for 2026. Gifts through a donor-advised fund generally do not qualify. Please check with your tax advisor about your own situation.

Also, we recently partnered with Double to Donation to connect our community with their corporate giving benefits: many local, larger employers will match your gift, which can double its impact. IBM, Regeneron, Northwell Health, and KeyBank are among them. Search for your company here. If they match, there will be instructions on how to make it happen.

Ways to give:

•      Monthly giving. Join our Giving Circle with fun perks at $15, $45, or $84 a month and keep the farm close all year. One-time gifts help us respond, recurring gifts help us plan boldly!

•      One-time gift. Give online in a few minutes.

•      Donor-advised fund. Search for Poughkeepsie Farm Project in your sponsor's portal or use our EIN, 14-1813679. Sponsors set their own year-end deadlines and some ask for grant requests by December 1, so check yours and recommend your grant early.

•      Stock or IRA. Appreciated stock and, if you are 70 1/2 or older, a gift from your IRA can be especially tax-smart. Email me at gina@farmproject.org and I'll send instructions.

•      Planned giving and sponsorships. Learn about legacy gifts and naming opportunities. We are also in the beginning stages of starting an endowment. Please respond to this email if you'd like to make a gift that keeps us growing in perpetuity.

Here is what your support does. In 2025 our farm donated 44,197 pounds of fresh produce to Hudson Valley neighbors facing food insecurity. That is a little over a quarter of everything we grow, and our goal is to reach 50% by 2030.

Questions about any of these? Reply here or call me at 914-214-7719. Thank you for being part of this farm.

Thanks!
