How to recommend a gift to Poughkeepsie Farm Project from your donor-advised fund, and what it supports.
Today is DAF Day, a national day that highlights giving through donor-advised funds. If you have a DAF, we wanted to make it easy to find us.
What is a DAF?
A donor-advised fund is a charitable giving account held by a sponsoring organization, often a community foundation or a financial institution. You contribute to the fund, then recommend grants from it to the nonprofits you care about. Many people use DAFs to give in a planned way, and some fund them with appreciated stock. Your financial advisor or sponsor can tell you whether a DAF makes sense for you.
What your gift supports
Poughkeepsie Farm Project is a 12-acre regenerative farm that grows food for more than 500 CSA households. In 2025 we donated 44,197 pounds of fresh produce to Hudson Valley neighbors facing food insecurity. That is a little over a quarter of everything we grow, and our goal is to reach 50% by 2030.
Gifts to general operating support go where the need is greatest. That gives our farmers and educators the most flexibility to respond to the season, whether that means a late frost, a new donation partner, or a school group that wants to spend a day in the garden.
How to recommend a gift
Search for Poughkeepsie Farm Project in your sponsor's online portal, or use our DAF search tool at farmproject.org/give.
Our EIN is 14-1813679.
If your sponsor mails checks, send them to Poughkeepsie Farm Project, P.O. Box 3143, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
A note on timing
DAF sponsors often set their own year-end deadlines for grant requests, and processing can take a few weeks. If you'd like a gift to land before December 31, it's worth checking your sponsor's cutoff and submitting early.
Questions?
Email Gina McCann at gina@farmproject.org. If you do recommend a gift, let us know so we can thank you properly. And if you'd rather keep it anonymous, that's fine too.
