Alpha Calendula – Calendula officinalis
Description: Clear bright orange blooms reminiscent of gerberas. High resin content for medicinal use. 2–3 1/2" blooms. Also known as pot marigold, common marigold, and Scotch marigold.
Spacing: 6-12”

Basil, "Holy Basil” – Ocimum americanum var. pilosum
Description: Also known as Kapoor Tulsi. Mild spicy aroma with hints of sweetness. For teas, culinary and medicinal use. Very good resistance to downy mildew.
Spacing: 4-8”

Light: Full sun

Basil, "Noga” - Ocimum basilicum
Description: Fast-growing, traditional Genovese basil, highly resistant to downy mildew. Uniform, tall plants. Suitable for field, greenhouse, hydroponic and container production.
Growing Tips: Top plants to induce branching and increase yield.
Spacing: 4-8 inches
Height: 20-24 inches
Light: Full sun

Basil, "Doron” - Ocimum basilicum
Description: Dark purple large leaves and a classic aroma. Fusarium Wilt tested. Tender Annual. Downy mildew resistant.
Growing Tips: Prefers moderately rich, moist soil. Top mature plants to induce branching and increase your total yield.
Spacing: 4-8 inches
Height: 20-24 inches

Basil, “Thai” – Occimum basilicum
Description: Valued for its intense basil flavor with hints of cloves and anise. Use in curries, drinks, sweets
Growing Tips: Provide regular water to avoid heat stress

Basil, “Red Cardinal” – Occimum basilicum
Description: The leaves are spicier than traditional sweet basil. Best harvested just before the flowers open, although the flowers are edible.
Growing Tips: Pinch back the tops to encourage bushiness and delay flowering, which keeps the leaves tender and flavorful.
Spacing: 4-8”

Borage – Borago officinalis
Description: Large plants bear hundreds of small edible flowers. Add the flowers to salads or use to garnish cold drinks and desserts. Freeze as ice cubes. Mild cucumber flavor.

Chamomile - Matricaria recutita
Description: Easily grown bearer of small golden daisy-like flowers which make an excellent herbal tea when dried and steeped.
Growing Tips: Prefers a well-balanced sandy loam.

Cilantro “Cruiser”- Coriandrum sativum
Description: Pungent, complex, and redolent of citrus and spice, cilantro provides a fresh foil for the chiles, garlic, and spices favored in many cuisines. Seeds are known as coriander.
Growing Tips: Do not transplant once established b/c of long taproot.
Spacing: 1/4-1/2 inches in rows 3 ft. apart

Dill, “Bouquet” - Anethum graveolens
Description: Upright plant branches out from a single stalk. Best known for pickling, but essential for Russian, Polish, and Hungarian cuisine. Has soothing properties. Self-sowing Annual.
Growing Tips: Harvest foliage early, before seed stalks mature.
Spacing: 6 inches

Stevia – Stevia rebaudiana
Description: Natural sugar substitute. Use fresh, dried, powdered, or as a liquid to sweeten a variety of foods and beverages. Bushy, high-yielding plants.
Growing Tip: An ideal plant to grow in containers as a houseplant or on the patio. For container growing, choose a pot that is at least 14" across and provide soil that is well drained. Keep evenly moist.

Catnip – Nepeta cataria
Description: Cat-attracting perennial herb with white flowers. Very attractive to bees. Easily dried for a fine herbal tea.
Growing Tips: Tolerant of most soil types, very hardy

Chives - Allium schoenoprasum
Description: Leaves enhance any dish with their subtle onion flavor, providing a fine treat in very early spring. Hardy perennial
Growing Tips: Grow in well-drained and well-watered soil. Divide clumps every few years.

Common Sage - Salvia officinalis
Description: Wide variety of culinary uses. Dusty green leaves are edible and can be used in dressing, sauces, salted herbs, sausage, and tea. Makes a good base for dried floral wreaths.
Growing Tips: Will grow in most soils with good drainage and a fair amount of nitrogen.

Ellagance Purple Lavendar - Lavandula angustifolia
Description: Deep purple flowers bloom the first year on large dense spikes. Plants are bushy, uniform, and well-branched.
Growing Tips: Perennial, but protect in cold areas. Easier than chives to bring indoors for winter.
Spacing: 12-18 inches

Wild Marjoram - Origanum vulgare
Description: Light, sweet flavor for teas and cooking. Use leaves fresh or dried for culinary purposes. Blooms in shades of pink to purple from midsummer through fall.
Growing Tips: Grows best in well-drained, sandy soil. Wild marjoram tolerates drought once the plant is established.
Spacing: 12 inches

Mint, Common – Mentha piperata
Description: A versatile herb that can be used fresh or dried. Pinch top leaves to promote bushier growth.
Growing Tips: Will grow in a variety of soils as long as there is ample moisture. Can spread aggressively.

Oregano, Greek - Origanum heracleoticum
Description: Low-growing perennial with fragrant dull green and purple leaves and white flowers. Both a culinary and medicinal herb.
Growing Tips: Harvest when it is beginning to flower. Likes well- drained soil. Will lose potency if soil is overfed.
Spacing: 12 inches
Height: 8-24 inches

Thyme, German - Thymus vulgaris
Description: Thyme is often used to flavor meats, tomatoes, eggs, soups, and stews. Bees love its short lavender spikes. Perennial.
Growing Tips: Likes well-drained light dry alkaline soil. Mulch in cold weather climates.
Spacing: 6-8 inches
Height: 6-12 inches
