Plant the seeds and watch them grow
Is your child an aspiring chef? A budding homesteader? Or does she just like to get her hands dirty? If so, sign up for one of our farm and food skill-building series for kids. Each series offers five classes, where kids get hands-on experience growing and preparing food, identifying vegetables, herbs and flowers, making projects, and having fun!
Do you have a budding young chef in the family? Junior Chefs Cooking Club is for youth who want to explore the world of culinary arts!
Together with Chef Key, Junior Chefs will be led through a 5 week program that will get them thinking like a chef each time they step into the kitchen!
Junior Chefs will learn:
- basic culinary techniques and tools
- how to balance the 6 flavors
- herb and spice ID
- local seasonal ingredients and how to work with them
- kitchen safety and cleanliness
Young cooks deserve to have the skills and knowledge to back up their passion for food! Junior Chefs Cooking Club can empower them with the know-how and inspiration to cook for themselves and others with natural ingredients that contribute to healthy people and planet.
Join the Poughkeepsie Farm Project as we explore the outdoors this spring! Sign up for a four-week session with your little one (ages 3-5) and learn about plants, insects, and water through outdoor exploration on the farm and in the woods.
Each class is one hour long. A parent or other caregiver must accompany the child.
